Personal Information
We do not collect any personal identifying information such as names, email addresses, phone numbers, or other personally identifiable information.
Financial Data
The App collects and stores the following financial information locally on your device:
- Account Information: Account names, types (savings, investment, credit), and balances
- Transaction Data: Transaction names, amounts, types (income, expense, transfer), dates, and associated categories
- Categories: Custom transaction categories you create
- Schedules: Recurring transaction schedules, including frequency and notification dates
- Analytics Data: Net worth calculations, account balances, and transaction summaries
Receipt Images
The App allows you to scan and attach receipt images to transactions:
- Receipt Scanning: You can take photos of receipts using your device's camera to automatically extract transaction details
- AI Processing: Receipt images are processed using Google's Gemini AI model through our secure API to extract transaction information (merchant name, amount, date, etc.)
- No Data Storage: We do not store receipt images or any receipt data in our database. Receipt images are only used temporarily to parse transaction details. Only the extracted transaction information (merchant name, amount, category) is saved locally on your device
- Local Storage Only: If you choose to attach a receipt image to a transaction, the image is stored locally on your device only, not transmitted to or stored on any external servers
Device Information
The App may access the following device features:
- Camera: Camera access is used only when you choose to scan receipts. Images are processed locally and through our secure AI API for receipt parsing
- Notifications: Push notification permissions for scheduled transaction reminders
- Background Processing: Background fetch capabilities for scheduled transactions
- File Access: Document picker access (if you choose to import/export your financial data backup)
- Sharing: Device sharing capabilities (used only when you export your data backup to save it to your device or share it with other apps)
How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide Core Functionality: Enable you to track your accounts, transactions, and financial activities
- Receipt Scanning: Process receipt images using AI to automatically extract transaction details (merchant name, amount, date, category). Receipt images are processed through our secure AI API using Google's Gemini AI model, but are not stored in our database - only the extracted transaction information is saved locally on your device
- Schedule Notifications: Send you reminders for scheduled transactions
- Generate Analytics: Calculate and display your net worth, account balances, and financial summaries
Data Storage and Security
Local Storage
All your financial data is stored locally on your device using SQLite database technology. This means:
- Your data never leaves your device unless you explicitly choose to share or export it
- We do not transmit your financial information to external servers
- Your data is stored securely on your device's local storage
Data Security
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data:
- Data is stored in an encrypted SQLite database on your device
- The App uses secure storage mechanisms provided by the operating system
- We follow industry best practices for local data storage
Data Retention
Your data is retained on your device until you:
- Delete the App (which removes all associated data)
- Manually delete specific accounts, transactions, or other data within the App
- Use the App's data reset functionality
Data Sharing and Disclosure
No Third-Party Sharing
We do not share, sell, or disclose your personal or financial information to third parties. Your data remains on your device and is not transmitted to external servers, except for receipt image processing which is done securely through our AI API using Google's Gemini AI model. Receipt images are processed temporarily to extract transaction details and are not stored by us or any third party.
User-Initiated Sharing
You may choose to:
- Export your financial data as a backup file, which uses your device's native sharing capabilities to save or share the backup file
- Import data from a previously exported backup file using document picker features
These actions are entirely under your control and are not initiated by us. The App only accesses files when you explicitly choose to import or export data.
Permissions and Device Access
The App requests the following permissions:
Notifications
- Purpose: To send you reminders for scheduled transactions
- Data Collected: Notification preferences and scheduled notification dates
- Storage: Notification data is stored locally on your device
Background Processing
- Purpose: To process scheduled transactions and send notifications even when the App is not actively open
- Data Collected: None beyond what is necessary for scheduled transaction processing
Camera (Optional)
- Purpose: To allow you to scan receipts by taking photos. Receipt images are processed through our secure AI API using Google's Gemini AI model to extract transaction details
- Data Collected: Receipt images you choose to scan. These images are processed temporarily to extract transaction information and are not stored in our database. Only the extracted transaction details are saved locally on your device. If you attach a receipt image to a transaction, the image is stored locally on your device only
File Access (Optional)
- Purpose: To allow you to import or export your financial data backup files
- Data Collected: Only data you explicitly choose to import or export. When exporting, the App creates a backup file that you can save to your device or share using your device's native sharing capabilities.
Children's Privacy
The App is not intended for children under the age of 13. Since we do not collect personal identifying information, there is no risk of collecting such information from children. However, parents or guardians should be aware that the App allows users to enter financial data, and they should supervise their children's use of the App accordingly.
Your Rights and Choices
You have the following rights regarding your data:
- Access: You can view all your data directly within the App
- Modification: You can update, edit, or delete your accounts, transactions, and other data at any time
- Deletion: You can delete individual items or reset all App data through the App's settings
- Export: You can export your data using the App's export features (if available)
- Notification Preferences: You can manage notification permissions through your device settings
Note: Since we do not collect personal identifying information, there is no personal information to access, modify, or delete beyond the financial data you enter into the App.
Data Deletion
You can delete your data in the following ways:
- Individual Items: Delete specific accounts, transactions, categories, or schedules within the App
- Complete Reset: Use the App's data reset functionality to delete all data
- App Uninstallation: Uninstalling the App will remove all associated data from your device
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by:
- Posting the new Privacy Policy in the App
- Updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this Privacy Policy
You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes. Changes to this Privacy Policy are effective when they are posted.
Third-Party Services
The App is built using Expo and React Native frameworks. These frameworks may collect certain technical information (such as device type, operating system version) for app functionality purposes, but they do not have access to your financial data.
AI Services
- Google Gemini AI: We use Google's Gemini AI model to process receipt images and extract transaction details. Receipt images are sent securely to our API endpoint which uses Gemini AI for analysis. Receipt images are not stored by Google or our service - they are only processed temporarily to extract transaction information, and only the parsed details are saved locally on your device.
Expo Services
- EAS (Expo Application Services): Used for building and distributing the App. EAS may collect build-related metadata but does not access your financial data stored in the App.
International Data Transfers
Since all data is stored locally on your device, there are no international data transfers. Your data remains on your device regardless of your location.
California Privacy Rights
If you are a California resident, you have the right to:
- Know what personal information is collected
- Know whether your personal information is sold or disclosed and to whom
- Say no to the sale of personal information
- Access your personal information
- Request deletion of your personal information
- Not be discriminated against for exercising your privacy rights
Since we do not sell or share your data with third parties, and all data is stored locally on your device, you have full control over your information.
